Most victims of sexual
abuse who come to us need to be seen in therapy for at least one year. Your generosity
will help SOAR
provide treatment for those who are uninsured or cannot afford the cost of recovery services.

Early reporting and treatment are central to a victim’s recovery from
sexual trauma and the prevention of further victimization. When an
individual does not receive appropriate treatment and go on to
recovery the result can be:
·
Revictimization
· Inadequate parenting and protection of children who later get
victimized.
· The development of severe psychiatric disabilities like
post-traumatic stress disorder, major depression or dissociative
disorders.
· Lack of productivity.
· Lost time from work, truancy, or unemployment.
· Some untreated victims will perpetrate sex crimes against others.
